Jimmy Cliff was one of the most influential artists from Jamaica. He was the pulse of the great soundtrack The Harder They Come. However, he never made it big because his label Island Records chose to focus on Bob Marley instead. Forging ahead, Jimmy released a series of hits even influencing artists like Bob Dylan, Joe Strummer, Sting and UB40. Desmond Dekker even took Cliff’s own “You Can Get It If You Really Want” to the charts in England.

James Intveld – Joe’s Great American Bar & Grill in Burbank
James Intveld is one of the lead musicians in Country / Rockabilly. He’s got the voice that would put Elvis to shame and the looks to match. With 3 albums under his belt and an innumerable set of uncredited work, Intveld has got plenty of tunes to fill up his 4 hour set on Saturday (December 27, 2008).
Joe’s Great American Bar and Grill is not big enough to fill the number of people that wanted to dance, drink, listen to great tunes and hang out. Bumping elbows in the first set is common and everyone is swing dancing away. Plenty of friendly faces to dance wih even if you show up alone. The further you are from the stage, the less rowdy you likely are.
Mexico – Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas
My next trip will likely be Mexico or somwhere in the U.S. There is a great deal on cruises that take you from Long Beach to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas and back. Puerto Vallarta I heard was mainly a place to drink and hang out. Here is a pic from Puerto Vallarta.
Click here to read about some Douchebag that went to Puerto Vallarta. Seemed this guy is a pussy. He didn’t like the bull fights and “saw signs for cockfighting.”
